Queen honours ... men

Men are the business of the British Crown.

Women mostly get nothing.

Not one woman received the highest order of recognition, the Companion of the Order of Australia, in the Queen's Birthday Honours 2008.

Eight men did.

Twenty of the 22 new Officers of the Order of Australia and seventy-two percent of those made members are men.

The Executive of a nation of more than twenty million citizens cannot nominate one woman to receive its highest honour.

Australian women deserve better than the British Crown can deliver.

A republic governed by women's and men's legislatures presided over by an executive of elders accompanied by courts of women's and men's jurisdiction.
