In response to concern as to the cause of discrimination, a male adviser to Australia's Attorney-General Robert McClelland claims the nation's Sex Discrimination Act 1984 seeks "to eliminate sexual harassment in areas of public activity".

The Sex Discrimination Act 1984 has had absolutely no effect whatsoever in reducing violence against women over the past quarter century, in public or private.

Neither does the Sex Discrimination Act 1984 relieve Australian women of the indignity of perpetual male supervision as would a women's legislature.

Women continue to suffer while men feign expertise.
